E!/E?ETT ORDINANCE NO.40A,2 - 91 AN ORDINANCE relating to advertising on Everett Transit buses, amending Ordinance No. 84-70 and adding a new section to Everett Municipal Code Chapter 3.52 (Transit System). WHEREAS, the City of Everett City Council deems it necessary to regulate advertising on City vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City of Everett City Council wishes to insure the financial viability of the Everett Transit system thereby promoting continued and increased transit services for the citizens of Everett. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 84-70, which reads as follows: It shall be unlawful to place commercial advertising matter in or upon any vehicle which is the property of the City of Everett. "Advertising," for the purposes of this ordinance shall mean any printed matter which attracts the public's attention for the purpose of stimulating interest in the purchase of goods or services. is hereby amended to read as follows: Except as provided in section 3 of this ordinance, it shall be unlawful to place commercial advertising matter in or upon any vehicle which is the property of the City of Everett.
