E!/E?ETT <br /> ORDINANCE NO.40A,2 - 91 <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to advertising on Everett Transit buses, <br /> amending Ordinance No. 84-70 and adding a new section to Everett <br /> Municipal Code Chapter 3.52 (Transit System). <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett City Council deems it necessary to regulate <br /> advertising on City vehicles; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett City Council wishes to insure the financial <br /> viability of the Everett Transit system thereby promoting continued and <br /> increased transit services for the citizens of Everett. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 84-70, which reads as follows: <br /> It shall be unlawful to place commercial advertising matter in or upon any vehicle <br /> which is the property of the City of Everett. "Advertising," for the purposes of this <br /> ordinance shall mean any printed matter which attracts the public's attention for <br /> the purpose of stimulating interest in the purchase of goods or services. <br /> is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Except as provided in section 3 of this ordinance, it shall be unlawful to place <br /> commercial advertising matter in or upon any vehicle which is the property of the <br /> City of Everett.
