• � EVERETT ORDINANCE NO. 1976-93 AN ORDINANCE establishing current rates for sewer service in the City of Everett and repealing Ordinance No. 1918-92 and 1933-93 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that increased sewer service charges are necessary to meet NPDES permit requirements as ordered by the Department of Ecology, repay CSO loans, continue to aggressively maintain sewer infrastructure, and; WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the charges herein are reasonable; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: The City Council of the City of Everett finds that it is necessary and conducive to the protection of the public health, safety, welfare and convenience of the citizens of the City of Everett to collect charges from all users who contribute wastewater to the City's sewer collection and treatment system. The proceeds of such charges so derived are to be used for the purpose of operating, maintaining and improving, including debt service the City's sewer system and surface water and drainage systems. Effective July 1, 1994, and thereafter, service charges for the City of Everett sewer system are hereby fixed as follows: A. Single family residence: $23.00 per month (The monthly charge includes the current state utility tax and $3.75/mo. for Surface Water Quality Protection and Enhancement.) B. For other than single family residence (multiple family residence, commercial, and industrial users, etc.) The rate shall be computed in accordance with the following formula: Sewer service charge per month =Metered water usage x $23.00 900 cubic ft. (The monthly charge includes the current state utility tax and $3.75/900 cubic ft. per month for Surface Water Quality Protection and Enhancement.)
