//..SocAa <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 4546 <br /> A RESOLUTION confirming the City Council's <br /> intent to increase golf greens fees and membership <br /> costs as may be necessary to cover the City's costs as <br /> follows: the remodeling of the pro shop and restaurant <br /> buildings at Legion; and the costs of management <br /> services at both golf courses. <br /> WHEREAS, the City's policies require that its golf courses are each self-supporting <br /> and each golf course should generate revenues sufficient to pay all capital, operating <br /> and maintenance expenses of such golf course; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution approved on July 2, 1997, established <br /> greens fees and membership charges for the City's Legion Memorial ("Legion") and <br /> Walter E. Hall ("Hall") golf courses for the period beginning January 1, 1998, through <br /> December 31, 2002; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City needs to review and revise its membership program at Legion; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City is now considering a management contract for its two golf <br /> courses which may result in an increase in the operational costs of both courses; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council is considering a call for bids for the remodeling of the <br /> pro shop and restaurant buildings at Legion which will require an increase in the greens <br /> fees and membership charges at Legion; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council at this time is unaware of the exact costs of such items <br /> and is uncertain as to the amount of increased revenues necessary to cover the increased <br /> costs at Legion and Hall, respectively; and <br /> WHEREAS, it appears that an increase in greens fees in the range of approximately <br /> $0.30 per round to $1.50 per round at both courses will be necessary to cover the <br /> increased costs of managing the City's golf courses; and <br /> WHEREAS, it appears that an increase in Legion's greens fees ranging from <br /> approximately $1.00 to $4.00 per round will be necessary to finance the costs of <br /> remodeling the pro shop and restaurant buildings at Legion; and <br />
