740117E77 RESOLUTION NO. 4504 A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Everett, Washington calling for an election to submit a proposal for annexation of the Eastmont area to the voters in the territory proposed to be annexed, describing the boundaries of the area to be annexed, stating the approximate number of voters residing in the area to be annexed, stating that the City will pay the cost of the annexation election, requiring upon annexation that the area be assessed and taxed at the same rate and basis as property within the current City of Everett except for existing City indebtedness, and that the City will provide for the adoption of zoning consistent with the City's adopted Comprehensive Plan upon approval of annexation by the electorate of the area to be annexed. WHEREAS, the City has received a request from residents of the Eastmont area to submit to the voters by election the Eastmont area annexation; and WHEREAS, the proposed Eastmont annexation area is consistent with the City of Everett's adopted Comprehensive Plan and within the City's Urban Growth Area; and WHEREAS, the City Council determines that the best interests and general welfare of the City would be served by the annexation of the Eastmont area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT: Section 1: 1.1 An election be submitted to the voters in the annexation area described herein upon the question of annexation. 1.2 The boundaries of the proposed annexation area are described in the attached Exhibit A which is incorporated herein by this reference as if set forth in full. 1.3 As nearly as can be determined in consultation with the Snohomish County Election Department, there are approximately 1,839 registered voters residing in the area proposed for annexation.
