July 9, 1997 <br />�-7-7 %St <br />Moved by Councilmember Hansen, seconded by Councilmember Overstreet <br />to accept the Everett Animal Shelter Project as complete and authorize the <br />Mayor to sign the certificate of completion which begins the 60 day retention <br />period for the release of retainage to the general contractor, USK <br />Corporation. <br />Councilmember Hansen expressed that the new animal shelter is a beautiful <br />facility. An Open House will be held in August. <br />Roll was called with all councilmembers voting yes except for President <br />Anderson and Councilmember Wilson who were excused. <br />Motion carried. <br />In conjunction with Dr. Beaton, Ph.D., University of Washington, the Fire <br />Administration has proposed a leadership training program for supervisory <br />personnel. This training will be offered off duty in four separate eight -hour <br />training sessions. Dr. Beaton and Dr. Frederick Fiedler from the University of <br />Washington are volunteering their time. They have received a grant from the <br />University of Washington in the amount of $7,500 to offset supervisor salary <br />costs. <br />Moved by Councilmember Pope, seconded by Councilmember Gipson to <br />authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement with the University of Washington <br />for Leadership Training and Program Funding Grant. <br />Councilmember Pope reported that the Budget Committee approved this <br />agreement. <br />344 <br />
