• e <br /> EXHIBIT A-1 <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> CITY OF EVERETT <br /> LAKE CHAPLAIN RECOVERED WATER OUTFALL <br /> This exhibit describes the scope of work to complete design and prepare contract documents for <br /> modifications of the Lake Chaplain filter plant recovered water pump station and outfall as <br /> described in Cosmopolitan Engineering Group's March 2008 report to the City of Everett. <br /> Specifically, the proposed improvements consist of(1) extension of the recovered water outfall <br /> approximately 4,000 feet into Lake Chaplain, and(2) addition of a fourth recovered water pump <br /> and appurtenances. <br /> Upon approval of conceptual designs for the intakes and outfall, this task will complete the <br /> designs for each to support competitive construction bidding. Specific tasks include: <br /> Task 100 - Design Criteria <br /> Design criteria will be established for the following design parameters: <br /> • Survey datum and benchmark <br /> • Current and future design flow rates (to be provided by City) <br /> • Existing recovered water pump and motor specifications <br /> • Inventory and schematic of existing recovered water piping <br /> • Criteria for construction work on, in and near Lake Chaplain(city, state, precedent) <br /> • Confirmation of proposed discharge location in Lake Chaplain <br /> • Complete hydraulic analysis and establish pipe I.D. <br /> • Develop system head curves and pump curves for future pump operations <br /> A technical memorandum will be prepared documenting the project objectives,design criteria, <br /> and design basis for the proposed system improvements. <br /> Task 200 - Recovered Water Outfall Extension Design <br /> The following tasks will be conducted to establish the design for the recovered water outfall <br /> extension from a connection point in the vicinity of the existing lake intakes to the terminus in <br /> Lake Chaplain: <br /> • Create project base map from the Golder bathymetry data and the City's site base map <br /> • Licensed surveyor(tentatively Perteet)to pick up onshore spot elevations identified by <br /> Cosmopolitan Engineering—City of Everett survey standards shall apply <br /> (http://www.everettwa.orq/ENG Mon/COE EPS CAD Standards.pdt). <br /> • A dive with video will be conducted to document the bottom conditions in Lake Chaplain <br /> at several locations along the proposed route, and included with reference materials in the <br /> contract documents. <br /> • Review drawings and geotechnical information on the levee design and construction <br /> • Onshore section <br /> 85 <br /> Paee 3 of 6 <br />
