The fire flow requirement is 2 ,750 gpm, based upon 17,500 square <br /> feet of Type ZII-N construction. <br /> 5. Three hydrants are required wichin 200 driving feet of the <br /> building. The liydrant at 38th and Smith is adequate. Two <br /> additional hydrants are requ:.red as described above, to be <br /> installed prior to const�uction. <br /> � • A portable fire extinguisher of 2A-lOBC rating must be provided <br /> within 75 feet travel distance of all portions of the bui2ding. <br /> 7 • An automatic fire alarm syst�m complying �rith Uniform iire Code, <br /> Article 14 and 81 must be provided. Plans must be submitted to <br /> the Fire Prevention Buzeau for apporval. Fire alarm systems must <br /> be installled under permit of the City of Everett Building <br /> Department. <br /> 8 . The correct address must be clearly and legibly pasted over or <br /> near the main entrance to the building. <br /> 9 • When access to or within a structure or an azea is unduly <br /> diificult becav,�e of secured openings or where immediate access <br /> is necessary for life saving or f�re fighting purposes, the Fire <br /> Department may require a key box to be installed in an accessible <br /> location. A rapid entry system may also be desirable in order to <br /> avoid unnecessary damage while making entry to any building <br /> during an emergency situation. <br /> l0. High piled combustible storage is defir.ed as combustible <br /> materials in closely packed piles more than 15 faet in height or <br /> on pallets or in racks more than 12 Peet in height. For certain <br /> special-hazards commodities, the critical pile height may be as <br /> low as 6 feet. Such storage is regulated by Article 81 of the <br /> Uniform Fire Code, 1988 Edition, as ado�ted by the State of <br /> Washington and enforced by the City of Ev�rett. Certain <br /> additional protections are required, deperiding upon the actual <br /> square footage being utilized.
