The special inspections Krazan & Associates was requested to <br /> perform for this project were Soil Bearing and Reinforced Concrete <br /> To the best of our knowledge, all work and noted deficiencies have been tested and/or inspected and have <br /> �"` been found to be in accordance with fhe approved plans and specifications, and Chapter 17 of the 1997 <br /> Uniform Building Code with the exception of the items noted below. <br /> In order to reduce the amount of over-excavation of soR soi]s at the site, ICrazan & Associates <br /> recommended that the allowable bearing pressure for the continuous footings be mduced to 1500 psf <br /> from the design 2500 psf prov;ded the existing soft fill was over-excavated a minimum of 3 Ceet. Thc <br /> conhactor has documented that the sizes of the column footings were increased ro reduce the bearing <br /> pressure to the recommended 1500 psf. However, the footings ben»een column locations were not <br /> widened anc; ihe minimum 3 foot cut on the West side of the building was not achieved at the request of <br /> the o�mer in order to reduce construction costs. The owner was informcd that settlement of the floor <br /> slab and subsequent loss of serviceability may occur as a result.
