My letter of January 15, 1975 reqeested calculations showing <br /> how the building complied with the seismic requirements for Zone <br /> 3. The calcuZations still do not recognize the existence of <br /> seismic requirements. I ran a quick check on the seismic require- <br /> ments and find that th�y may be greater than the wind lateral <br /> forces. The calculati• ns must shbw the seismic lateral force and <br /> if less than the wind 1 ads shall so state. Lateral force V=ZKC[� <br /> shall be com�uted in accordance with Section 2314 (d) , the value C <br /> is not 0.1 and shall be computed as shown in Section 2311 (d) . <br /> The prefabricated concrete slabs show no method of shear transfer <br /> to make them a structural diaphragm. Calculations shall show the <br /> hairpin dowels are sufficient to transmit the required forces. <br /> , 2. The calculations on sheet LF.1 show computations for over- <br /> turning, however, there are no calculations to show how the <br /> vertical uplift of 13.2 KIPS in the footing.
