WASHINuTON <br />1700-41ST STREET <br />After considering all the input and interpretation of E.C.C. 14.16.600, Mayor <br />Anderson has concluded that a possible loo:) hole exists as it relates to the <br />requirement for fire hydrants in the "Business" zones. He has requested that <br />the City Attorney immediately draft an amending ordinance with provisions to <br />be retroactive against existing building. <br />In light of this discrepancy, Mayor Anderson has directed that the prerequirement <br />for a fire hydrant within 200 feet of Dr. Brust's clinic will not, in and of <br />itself, delay the issuance of building permits. However, Dr. Brust must recog- <br />nize that for expedience and economics, it very likely is to his advantage to <br />consider installation of the hydrant in connection with other construction <br />activities. <br />cc: Mayor Anderson <br />Richard Thompson <br />
