The City has historically
maintained the roadway and alley surfaces and reviews
contractor improvements to see that these surfac
improvements meet City standards. Due to the
circumstances regarding this particular alley
improvement, the City will not recommend expendinq
public funds to accommodate your request.
This particular alley was blacktopped several years ago
as a joint effort of a couple of commercial property
owners. The City participated by simply grading the
existing surface prior to laying the asphalt. The
alley surface was above the garage iloor in question
even then, and the garaye was ,:t being regularly used
to house a vehicle. Additionaliv, the then existing
alley grade and present grade compliment all the other
property owners along the alley.
If you wish to use the alley for vehicular a.ccess to
your existing garage we recommend that you either
improve the structure to take advantage of the cur.rent
grade, relocate the structure to another location
allowing sufficient roum to drive up the existing alley
grade, or regrade the alley section in question
yourself following City standards.
