The replacement of the FTF42+FTS29 by a <br />single or double SIMPSON HPAHD22 as shown on the marked-up <br />plans are adequate to conform to the calculated wind and <br />seismic loads. <br />We have also traced the roof loads and calculated the <br />allowable shears for the notched (2) 2x12 joists supporting <br />the roof and floor over the garage area. We are showing a <br />detail with either 2x9 or 2x6 rafters at a 6:12 slope. <br />Either condition is satisfactory for shear stresses with a <br />2x6 wall.
