August 27 , 1980
Project No. 4080
Page four
wall , which is at least 12 inches thick and extends three-fourths
height of the wall. Additionally, the proposed pool area should
. be adequately drained using conventional systems , so that increased
pore pressures do not build up under the pool and create distress.
Artificial fill which occurs along the slope areas should be re-
moved ar,d wasted from the site area. The majority of the fill
is expected to be removed during site development ; however, any
that remains should be disposed of, and th slope stabilized through
revegetation and/or landscaping. We s4ggest that landscaping
for stabilization of the slope be performed, and consist of light
wei.ght material such as railroa.d ties . Rockeries should be minimized
unlss well founded into the basal soils , and slopes are stable.
Additional filling within the downslope portion of the site should
be performed only if engineered and adequately retained.
Special Notes
Drainage control and surface runoff should not allow Nater to fiow
downslope, unless within a controlled system.which directs all
waters off site without surface erosion.
We suggest the soils consultant observe excavations prior• to
footing concrete placement, so that proper footing depth and
adequate foundation soils are insured.
Thank you for the opportunity to be of servic:e. If you have any
questions , feel free to call on us at ary time.
Sincer y ,
Davi L. Nels ciates , Inc.
//-" , ,/i
,``j'L
David L.
