l
Ic9a5-a
Re-vegetaton Plan for 5117 23`d bve W. Everett, WA 98203
The eastern slope of my house is considered to be the protective area by the
city of Everett. Over the last 20 years, the soil erosion has been considerable
to the point that the retaining wall is necessary to protect the property.
I am submitting this re-vegetation pan so that the building permit for the
retaining wa;l can be approved.
For th past few years, I have noticed that the three alder trees and one
cottonwood tree that are closest to the property have been uprooted from the
ground. It was necessary to cut them down so that the new retaining wall can
be constructed. The ivy growth has been significant and almost every tree in
the protective area has vines around the tree trunk. In the past, it was
necessary to go down the slope and cut th vines of ivy to protect the
existing trees.
The existing protective ara has many cedar, Douglass fir, alder trees. I
would like to piant more cottonwood, dgwood, willow trees if the site
allows. I also would like to remove most oi the iry since it has been choking
many trees around the area and replace with herbaceous ground covers and
evergreen shrubs such as salmonberry, h+ackleberry brushes.
Since there are already many existing trees in the protective area, I will re-
evaluate the site once the retaining wall is constructed to see how many trees
can be planted depending on the spacing and add the native ground covers
and s}trubs.
I will also contract the licensed arborist or landscape architect for their
expertise and suggestions.
Thank you for consideration.
Sincercly,
L7c Z/2
Chi-Mei Yang
5117 23`d Ave. W.
Everett, WA 98203
Home: 425-514-0948
Cell: 425-34:,-3288
Work: 425-261-3530
