Ave W.
Everett, Wa. 98203

RE: Emergency Slane Re-EsJablishnent
5213 -23rd Ave W.
Everett, Wa.
Dear Mr. ICaas;
Attached is GES, /nc's proposed emergency slope re-establishmeat desig to repair a slide located in
' the back yard ofthe above referenced residence in Everett, Washiugton. In order to maintain slope
►
stability's we recommend that this repair be completed prior to the upcoming winter. The design is
i
based upon discussions held with you to determine your needs and budget, with the findings of our site
reconnaissance and field work conducted on 8/4/97 and upan data reduction and analysis of edsting
site conditions.
It is our understand'wg that the slide occurred this past January and was caused by heavy rains and
infusion of water mto the slope from roof drains/downspauts. Our reconnaissance of the site conSrmed
this conclusion. 17e sGde apparently occuned within the top of a small ravine that ha3 been 5lled in
with uncontrulled &Il during house construction. Based upon our subsurface investigation, a certain
amount of uncontrolled fill is still in place between tle top of the slide and the back of the house. Sase
soil below the site area consists of Vashon Glacial Till (Qvt) which was Found in the site explorations
and mapped on the Geologic Map of the site area.
c;mhnif.,l, ymfugi Environmrnta!'Enginrrrixg
