I have reviewed this proUlem with Alan Lockc in ordcr to see if there is a solution we could help you with. Determining the source and course of ground wnter is usually not an easy task. We do not have the means to determine where the water that runs through your basement actually comes from. The pond consuvcted approximately 300 feet up the hill from you would be considered a suspicious source. However, according to the plans for the pond, it was lined with a 30 miL Gcomembrane as required by thc ciry. It could be that the source is a gcneral seasonal flow of ground �vater in the area created by springs, subsw•face and surface flows. The best solution to your problem may be escavating an interceptor trench along the uphill side oP your basemen[. According to Alan and }our letter, you have already done some trenching in diat area. In order for the trench to intercept the ground water it would have to be deeper than your basement or at Ieast as deep as where the viater enters the basement. I have enclosed a copy of the plan that you requested. Also, the private contract for the pond consh-uction would likely be Jim Gaffney with Gaffney Construction Co, Inc.
