Powder Mill
Highlands._r—
Dear Mc Space,
I have reviewed your request to eliminate the damaged and/or dangerous trees in the Native Growth
Protection Area on the lot listed above. I do agree that the 3 trees viewed in the field and as noted
on the site plan need to be removed. Also, I do not have a significant problem with the relocation of
the fir trees that were planted by the property owner in the Kenilworth Hills Subdivision. I have also
had a conversFstian with the owner of lot 62, and he too is concemed about the location of these
trees. I do bcalieve it would be beneficial to both of your interests to meet and discus a suitable
location for the location of these trees.
As noted on the final plat map of the Plat of Powder Mill Highlands, the City is required to give you
writtenpe rmission to remove such trees within the Native Growth Protection Area. You are hereby
- NTED APPROVAL to remove the trees as noted on the attached site plans w6th the following
con itions:
For each alder tree removed, you must replant 1 evergreen tree at least 6 feet in height at planting.
;. (Species that are acceptable for replacement planting are Douglas fir, Westem red cedar, and
, Westem hemlockJ Plarting must occur immediately after trees are removed. Please notiry me in
writing when the pltnting is complete.
Fencing - Yoa r uest to provide a 6 foot cedar fence on the back property line consistent with the
a lots in Kenilwc:rthills is permissible No cross fencing will be permitted Please take care when
' •; installing the fence so that the least natural vegetation is disturbed.
: `
;` If you wish to plant other vegetation within the NGPA for restoration of the impacted area, the City
has no abjections as long as the vegetation planted are natural plants and tree species normally
found in northwest forests. (Example: nine bark, Oregon grape, Indian plum, salal, ocean spray,
' elderberry, evergreen or red huckleberry) Note: Please provide your Contractor with a copy of this
';:
approval.
: If you have any questions, give me a call at 259-8731.
 'ncerely,
,.
Yf rlt'lJot
,.
Donald J.
