Item #1 of the letter sent to you January 11'" has yet to be addressed. It reads as follows; 1'he west wall is shown at 3 feet from the property line on the site plan. Per Table 5-A, that wall should be protected by a mmimum af one-hour fire-resistive construction. Details and a fire resistive listing should be provided. UBC Section 503.2 2. The latest revision to the structural analysis of the 6 X 8 posts appeazs to be . incomplete. As discussed previously, two walls cannot provide a sheaz wall lateral- force-resisting-system. Therefore the posu must be designed to carry all of the wind load. If the sidewall posts are considered laterally supported at both the top and the bottom (as indicated in the analysis), then the roof diaphragm is required to carry the upper sidewall post reactions to the end walls. Therefore the end wall posts must be analyzed as cantilevered from the bottom with the diaphragm force applied to the top. This amounts to a large overstress in the end-wall columns. Upon resubmittal of the drawings, your application will be given priority and plan review will recommence. Atl required submittals shall be of sufficient detail and contain sufficient information to ensure that th` proposed structure will be constructed in compliance with all adopted codes.
