Permit Counter
Mr. Elmer Johnston November 9, 1990
3411 Oakes
Everett, Washington 98201
SUBJECT: Farrar Property Wetland Presence
Dear Mr. Johnston;
At your request I field checked a portion of the Farrar
property located in the southwest corner of the intersection of
27th Avenue West and Mikilteo Boulevard in Mukilteo, Washington for
wetland on November 7, 1990.
Specifically, I checked for the presence of a hydrological
and/or wetland connection between two previously identified
wetlands on the subject site. The previous wetlands were
identified on the lot where the current residence is located and on
lots numbered 1,2,3, and 4 on the Sterling Homes short plat map
dated 3/l/90.
Based on my field investigation, the spring located at the
base of the bank on the north side of the residence flows north,
northwest across the lot labeled as "Exception" and into the
previously identified wetland and the two wetlands are
hydrologicaly connected.
No wetland boundary delineation was conducted betwee:i the two
wetlands, the focus of the investigation was to determine if a
hydrological connection existed.
Soils were sampled progressing down the hill in a line
transect to the north and west using a hand held auger. At the
head of the spring the soils were saturated dark sandy silts (No
colors were taken on the saturated sands).
1) mottles were present at 6 inches, soil was wet to the
surface, impervious till at 18 inches;
i
2) gleyed soils at 13 inches (5Y5/1), till below 13 inches,
saturation from 2 inches down to 13 inches below the surface;
3) soils are disturbed and mixed. Rhizospheres at 12 inches
which indicated anaerobic conditions caused by saturation.
Soil very moist at 10 inches;
4) soils are very disturbed and mixed, with mottles at 6
inches. No color of the matrix was taken due to the mixed
nature of the soils. At 12 inches the soil was moist with
mottles, at 18 inches it was saturated.
o n0,.79 r..,,sn i,o it ox 22052 S e a t I I v. 1NA 98122
