Mass Grading Trending generally cast to west, the earthwork contractor continued mass grading processes over the project's former sludge disposal area near the south end of Pacific Topsoil's Smith Island Facility. Utilizing a large dozer'D6), the contractor spread recently stockpiled imporred soils from the I lighway 9 widening site (bluish gray SILT to brownish gray silty SAND with few gravels) into an approximately .5-l' loose lift. During time of visit no compaction processes were observed. The contractor noted that the other crew member, whom typically ran to roller, was not here today "nd requests AESI return in a few days to complete testing of the observed fill. Further, the contractor noted that he would continue stockpiling and aerating import material from the Mercer Island site as it continual to appear wet. The contractor's supaintendent, Thomas, noted that they would begin hauling crushed rock for use in the specified biotic layer in the coming weeks.
