Utilizing a large dozer (D6), the contractor spread <br />recently stockpiled imported soils from the Ilighway 9 widening (bluish gray SILT to brownish gray silly SAND with few gravels) and h1crcer <br />Island sites into an approxiniately.5-I' loose lift and compacted the material in a series of passes via vibrmmy roller. The compacted (ill soil <br />was probed, with tine full weight of the observer on a.5" diameter steel T-probe, and proved ftmr/unyielding with twciage penetrations of 9.1". <br />AESI conducted to a series of density tests to confirm tine specified minimum compaction of the proposed impermeable cup (93% ASTM 1557). <br />The contractor was notified of all density results listed below.
