Utilizing a large dozer (D6), the contractor spread recently stockpiled import soils front
The Ilighway, 9 widening (bluish gray SILT to brownish gray silty SAND with few gravels) and compacted the material in a series of foul passes
via vibratory roller. The compacted fill soil was probed, with the full weight of the observer on a .5" diameter steel T-probe, and proved
0rn✓unyielding with average penetrations of.5.1 ". AESI conducted a series of density tests to confirm the specified minimum compaction of
the proposed impermeable cap (95% ASTM.1557) as currently exposed near the SW corner. The contractor was notified of all density results
listed below. Additionally, AESI noted that the contractor was continuing to remove soil from an existing stockpile located near monituting well
M W-102A. The stockpiled material (brown silly SAND with few gravels) was placed/spread in an area immediately adjacent. As worked
Progressed, AFSI noted Mercer Island fill soils (brownish gray silly fine SAND with trace gravels) being imported and stockpiled near the
eastern margins of the site. The contractor noted that the material would be placed on areas currently above the finished cap elevation. No
grading/compaction ofthe material was noted at time of visit.
