Utilizing a large vibratory roller, the contractor compacted a V loose lift of recently
placed/aerated fill from a construction site in Mercer Island. The soil (brown silty SAND with gravel and trace deleterious debris) was
compacted in a series of 4 passes and proved unyielding under the wheel weight of numerous truck/trailer assemblies. Further, the compacted
soil was probed, with the full weight of the observer on a .5" diameter steel T-probe, and proved firm with corresponding T-probe depths nil
exceeding 2". The contractor noted that the above noted fill was atlncar the proposed finish grade for the protective layer. Additionally. AGSI
noted that the contractor had begun importing and stockpiling 2" minus crushed recycle near the west central margins of the site. The contractor
noted that this material would be used to construct an E-W access road. See figure I for specific task location.
COPIr:S TO: Distribution
FIELD REP.: Jon D.
