The geotextile fabric shall be placed in the manner and at the locations shown <br />in the Drawings or as directed by the Engineer. <br />B. At the time of installation, fabric shall be rejected if it has defects, ribs, holes, <br />flaws, deterioration, or damage incu-,Ted during manufacture, transportation, <br />storage, or placement. Visual review of the fabric shall be performed once the <br />fabric has been placed and prior to placement of any overlying materials. <br />C. Bags of soil or other methods approved by the Engineer shall be used to <br />secure the geotextile during installation. <br />3.2 JOINTS <br />A. Sewn Seams: Made wherever stress transfer from one geotextile sheet to <br />another is necessary. The edge and end of roll joints for stabilization <br />geotextile placed over the re -graded waste surface shall be sewn. Sheets of <br />stabilization geotextile shall be of sufficient length and width to minimize <br />seaming. Sewn seams, as approved by Engineer, also may be used instead of <br />overlap at joints for applications that do not require stress transfer. <br />1. Seam Efficiency: <br />a. Minimum 50 percent. <br />b. Verified by preparing and testing minimum of one set of <br />nondestructive samples per acre of each type and weight of <br />geotextile installed. <br />C.
