SCHEDU..E B: SW i ISLAND LANDFILL 177065B <br />PHASE 2 CL%`1SURE IMPROVEMENTS <br />3.5 QUARRY SPALLS AFPLICATIONS <br />A. The fabric shall be installed in such a manner that all joints shall have a <br />minimum overlap of 18 inches. Any geotextile damaged durin f, its installation <br />or during placement of quarry :-,palls shall be replaced by the Contractor at <br />Contractor's sole expense. <br />B. Quarry spalls shall not be dropped on the fabric from a height greater than <br />2 feet. Greater drop heights will be permitted if the Contractor provides a <br />4-inch minimum cushioning layer of sand on top of the fabric before dumping <br />of stone. <br />C. The placement of quarry spalls shall proceed from the bottom up to the top of <br />the slope. Quarry spalls placement onto the top of the slope and allowed to <br />roll down the surface of the fabric will not be permitted. <br />3.6 PLACING PRODUCTS OVER GEOTEXTILE <br />A. Before placing soil cover material over geotextile, notify Engineer. Do not <br />cover installed geotextile until after Engineer provides authorization to <br />proceed. <br />B. Do not operate machinery directly on the geotextile. Spreading equipment for <br />placement of soil cover over stabilization geotextile is as specified in <br />Section 02316, Fill and Backfill. I%event puncture, tear, or displacement of <br />geotextile and protect from damage. <br />C. Sequence placement of so;l cover material with anchor trench backfrll as <br />shown on the Drawings, to prevent movement of stabilization geotextile <br />during soil cover placement. <br />D. If tears, punctures, or other geotextile damage occurs during placement of <br />overlying products, remove overlying products as necessary to expose <br />damaged geotextile. Repair damage as specified in Article Repairing <br />Geotextile. <br />3.7 REPAIRING GEOTEXTILE <br />A. Repair or replace torn, punctured, flawed, deteriorated, or otherwise damaged <br />geotextile. <br />B.
