Baty, Assistant Fire Marshal DATE: September 27, 1995 SUBJECT: USE N7-95 CONVERT DUPLEX WITH OFFICE INTO TRIPLEX 1710 - 32nd STREET & 3201 WETMORE AVENUE Access - The Uniform Fire Code requires that all new structures shall provide Fire Department access roads to within 150 feet of all portions of the ground floor. Fire Department access roads (Fire Lanes) shall provide a minimum of 20 feet in width of unobstructed, all -season driving surface with a minimum clear height of 13'6". Fire Lanes will be posted and maintained as required by the Fire Department. Access - O.K. as shown on the site plan reviewed. Premise Identification - Premises shall be clearly identified by the correct address at the street entry. Buildings shall be clearly identified so as to be visible and legible from the access road. Individual apartments and suites, where applicable, shall be clearly and legibly identified from the access road. A fire hydrant is required within 350 driving feet of every structure. PREMISE IDENTIFICATION AND ALL REQUIRED FIRE DEPARTMENT ACCESS ROADS AND FIRE HYDRANTS SHALL BE IN SERVICE PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION. 6. Portable Fire Protection - A portable fire extinguisher with a minimum U.L. rating of 2-A:10-B:C shall be provided within 75 feet of travel on all floors of each bui,ding during construction and prior to occupancy.
