That the area separation wall between the old and new
buildings be 2 hour construction with a parapet 30"
above the low (old) roof. this wall will be extended
to separa'.e the space enclosed by the parapet and the
parapet will be sheathed with 1/2" gypsum sheathing for
5' on either side of the separation wall. The two
doors in this wall would be 1 1/2 hour rated with
magnetic holdopens oper=:ted by products of combustion
detectors. New corridors would not be rated
construction and old corridors would not have to be
upgraded. Relight areas are not restricted and wire
glass is not required. Since corridor doors are not
rated, air transfer grills from office to corridor are
permitted.
2. Lower level doors into the storage area will remain 20
minute and 5/8" G.W.B. will be used in the corridor to
provide 1 hour rating.
3. All mansard .roof sections will be vented with a 2"
continuous screened vent in the soffit.
A. Windows on the east elevation will be _empered glass.
Thank you for your help in this "fussy" remodel project.
Y rs ery/ly„
R bert 3.
