SECTION 01550 <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />PART 1- GENERAL <br />1.01 GENERAL <br />A. The Contractor shall prepare, and submit for approval, traffic control plans when <br />Contractor's operations will affect, in any way, use by the traveling public of existing roads, <br />sidewalks, and/or parking areas in, adjacent, or near the areas of the contract Work. Such <br />use may include, but is not limited to, vehicular, bicycle, pedestrian, and transit use. <br />B. The Contractor shall prepare, and submit for approval, traffic control plans as required by <br />the local jurisdiction or Federal, State, or Local law or regulation. <br />C. All traffic control plans shall be submitted for approval a minimum of ten (10) days in <br />advance of Contractor's activity requiring traffic control plans, or longer if required by the <br />local jurisdiction or Federal, State, or Local law or regulation. <br />D. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, vehicles and equipment, devices, signs, signals, <br />markings, safety gear, and such other materials and elements as required to implement <br />approved traffic control plans. <br />E. No work shall be performed in, near, or adjacent to areas of the contract Work until all <br />elements of any required and approved traffic control plan(s) are implemented, inspected, <br />and approved by the Resident Engineer. <br />F. All construction activities requiring implementation of traffic control plans shall be <br />coordinated as specified in Section 01110 SUMMARY OF WORK. <br />1.02 CONFORMANCE TO ESTABLISHED STANDARDS <br />A. Traffic control plans shall be developed and implemented in conformance with the standards <br />and guidance of the latest edition of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices <br />(MUTCD) administered by the Federal Highway Administration. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A.
