N. 20' of 34, th st of Lot 16, Snohomish County, Washington. <br />SPECIAL USE REQUESTED: The appellant desires to remodel the aoartment <br />upstairs for use as a rental unit which was its use previously. <br />The light and water meters are in existence and there will only <br />be interior re;nodelling. <br />ITEMS a, b and c below MUST BE FILLED IN: <br />a. Facts supporting owner's contention that there are exceptional or extra- <br />ordinary circumstances or conditions applying to the subject property or as <br />to the intended use thereof, that do not apply generally to other properties <br />in the same vicinity or zone. <br />This property was used for many years as a multiple dwelling so <br />that the upstairs is designed as an apartment. All that appellant <br />desires is to remodel :he apartment and continue its former <br />use. <br />b. Facts supporting owner's contention that such variance is necessary for <br />the preservation and enjoyment of a substantial property right of the appel- <br />lant possessed by the owners of other properties in the same vicinity or zone. <br />Appellant purchased this property with the intention of using the <br />upstairs as an apartment, as it previously had been, so that to <br />deprive the appellant of this right would impair a substantial. <br />pioperty right which he purchased from the previous owner. <br />c. Facts supporting owner's contention that the authorization of such vari- <br />ance will not be materially detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to <br />property in the vicinity or zone in which the property is located. <br />The dwellings in the vicinity of the subiect property are older <br />homes generally and are of the same type as the appellant's <br />-property. Further the exte_ior of appellant's property will not <br />be materiallv chanced nor will the use be chanced from that which <br />it had previously been put to. <br />Date Feb. 13, 1963.
