We also observed
minor cracks at the northeast corner of the residence along the north and east foundation walls,
but stabilization of the northeast corner is outside of the scope of this pruject.
Robbins and Company proposes to stabilize and re-level the perimeter foundations at portions
of the west foundation walls. They propose to accomplish this by underpinning these poRions of
the residence with 6 hydraulically driven Grip-Tite piers. The Grip-Tite piers consist of 3-inch
diameter steel pipe sections that will be attached to the existing foundation walls with steel
brackets. Each of the piers will be hydraulically advancecl individually until slight movement of
the foundation wall is observed. Once all of the Grip-Tite piers are installed in this manner,
several piers wiil be connected hydraulically and will uniformly lift portions of the building until it
is re-leveled.
Please see the attached figure titled "Vicinity Map" for an approximate location of the project
site. "fhe attached plan sheet titled "Mascio Residence Foundation Repair" presents our
specific recommendations for the locations and installation procedures related to the proposed
foundation repair.
EXISTIMG CONDITIONS
We competed a brief site visit to the site on June 14, 2006 to evaluate the existing conditions at
the residence. The sitE is generally level with an elevatiun of approximately 200 feet above sea
level, based on information from the United States Geologic Survey (USGS) topographic map
forthis area.
