PROJECT AND SITG CONDITIONS <br /> � l.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> � This report presents the resul[s of our subsurface exploration and geoteclmical engineering <br /> study for construction af a new Bartell llrue Srore at the Silver Lake Mal] located a[ 11010 19" <br /> � Avenue SG in Everelt, Washington (Figure 1). The new store would be located at die <br /> northwest corner of tl�e intersection of 19�' Avenue SE and ll2°i :itreet S£. The approximatc <br /> locations of the borings compictcd for this study are sho�vn on }=i�ure 2, Site and Exploration <br /> � Plan. In the eventthat any chan��esin the nature, design, orlocation ofthe proposed structure <br /> are p(anned, the conclusions and recommendations containe�l in this rcport should Ue reviewed <br /> and moditied, or verified, as necessary. <br /> � I .1 Purpose and Scopc <br /> � 'I'he purpose of tl�is study was to provide subsurface data to be utilized in design and <br /> construction of the new addition at the above-referenced site. Our smdy included a revie�v of <br /> � available geologic literature, drilling two test borings, excavatiog 12 exploration pits, and <br /> Performing geologic smdies to assess the type, thickness, distribution, and physical properties <br /> of the suUsurface sediments and shalluw ground water conditions. Geotechnical engineering <br /> � studies were also conducted to determine allowable foundation soil bearing pressures, suitable <br /> types of foundations, and recommendations for site preparation, drainage considerations, and <br /> erosion controL This report summarizes our current field�vork and offers geotechnical <br /> � engineering recommendatiuns bascd on our present understanding ofthe project. <br /> 1.2 Authorization <br /> � �Vritten authorization to procced ���ith this study was granted by Mr. Chuck Ogden of Shotdal <br /> Real Estate. Our sWdy was based on our visit to tl�e site and accomplished in generai <br /> � accordance a�ith our scope of �vork letter dated October 22, 200d. The completion of <br /> additional ezPloration pits was verbally approved by �ir. Chuck O;den. This report has been <br /> prepared for the esclusive use of Skotdal Real L-state and d�eir agents for specific application to <br /> I'�, � this project. Within the limitations of scope, schedule, and budeet, our services have been <br /> perfurmed in accordance with generally accepted geotechnical engineerin� and engineering <br /> � geology practices in effect in this area at the time our report was prepared. No other warranry, <br /> expmss or implied, is made.
