Thc property generally slopes in a southuesterly direction tuward
Silvcr Lake. The entire site has been significandy mocified with the northern portion now
nearly 100 percent impervious with parking lots and buildings. The soudiern portion of the
site, with an older home and detached garage, is dominated by a small pond. Originally, an
inlet of Silver Lake, the pond is now separated from the lake by SR-527 road fiil. A
I hydrological connection via a 24-inch corrugated metal culvert does exist. It is anticipated
that du- culvert acts to ebb and Flow with arying water levels uf the pond and lake. A low,
wet area extends to the east from the pond. Extensive regrading of the home site has
Isigificaudy disturbed the soil, topography and vegetation to the shoreline of the pond.
Vegetation
IVegctation on the site is concentrated near the pond area in the southwest corner of the
roperty and is characterized by non-native lawn grasses and ornamental shrubs and trees
I (including fruit trees and bamboo). Several large cedar, fir and willow trees are scattered
along the water's edge and in the low area ro the east of the pond. Undersrory consists of
slough sedge, cattail and Douglas spiraea at the ponds edge, tending to soft rush, red osier
 dogwood and salmon berry.
Soils
rvidence of significant surficial soil dismrbance on this site is presented by the Soil
Conscrvation Service (SCS) in the Soil Srvc oj Siohanish Coruiq Area, Wasl:ingtoi (see '
Fryrre 2 -- Sorls Mnp) which has dassified the site as Aldenvood-Urban land contplex, 2 to 8
percent slopes (map unit ).
