J.
APR 2 6 19E0
.John H. Easton
2205 122nd P1. SE
CITY COUNCIL OFFICE Everett, WA 98208
Mr. Ray Stephanson, Councilmember
3002 Wetmore Ave.
Everett, WA 98201
Dear Councilman,
In regard to the Metco Project. It is my upmost concern that the developer and
his sub -contractors are not following the project plans that were discussed and
agreed upon at the City Public Hearing.
There has been a great number of trees removed that were to remain. It is my
feeling and that of the community that these trees were removed for their
commercial value and that the greater ecological value was ignored.
The significant wetlands on and around the project are being greatly damaged.
Silt is being allowed to escape into the runoff and stream system.
During the burning stages of this project there was a great quanity of illegal
material burned in the burn piles. Materials such as the buildings and the
building composition roof material and a number of old tires.and plastic products.
This resulted in a significant amount of air pollution.
We the people living in the area are eyewitnesses to all these violations. These
violations have also been photographed including the air pollution.
A lawsuit is being discussed in the neighborhood, naming the Metco Co. as
defendants and also the City of Everett for negligence for failure to enforce
the regulat ons
an• aws
1 • -
It is my hope that this matter can be handled without legal actions.
It is my belief that correction by the City of Everett concerning this project
will serve notice to any and all future developers that they must follow and
obey the laws. It would also be a very valuable public relation item by the
city, that is if the City is interested in their public image.
Since ely,
John H. Easton
Concerned Citizen
