WASHINGTON
98201
Dear Sir:
Attached is the proposed channelization plan for the Metco Apartment
Development at 121st Street S.E. and S.R. 527. The improvements shown are for
an interim three lane improvement. Necessary right-of-way and commitment to a
future L.I.D. for a five lane roadway are also conditions of this development.
Apparently, I did not understand the direction you and Miguel Gavino had given
the City regarding the need for the State to review all channelization plans
for developments on S.R. 527. We thought no review was needed as long as the
individual channelization conformed w..th the final channelization concept
along that route. A channelization clan is being prepared for the entire
route and will L sent to the State for their approval. Future developments
would be reviewed by the Ci- fclr thc.J.r conformance to the approved plan.
There are numerous development; proposed along this one mile stretch of
S.R. 527. Should the City continue to send channelization plans to the State
for their approval?
The other issue, as we discussed, is the roadway section. The City has
adopted roadway sections for various classes of streets (copy attached). Is
it sufficient to require developers to construct to the City's Standards or
will the State need to review each development's roadway improvements for
conformance to the State's Standards?
I would appreciate it if you could walk the attached Metco Development Plans
through the necessary reviews. We also need to meet and discuss again the
State's review requirements for future developments along S.R. 527.
AUG 1 198
STREETS REAL PROPEPTY/ TRANSIT MOTOR BUILDING PUBLIC UTILITIES CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING TRAFFIC ENGR/
259.3820 LI.D.•s 259.8803 VEHICLES 259.9800 SERVICES 259.8800 INSPECTION 259.8800 SIGNAL MAlr rENANCE
259-8800 259.8002 259-8800 Water Sewer 259.8800 259-8800
Drainage
