October 5, 1981
Gary Quinton
Dykeman, Ogden, Aldridge 6 Quinton, Architects, P.S.
3216 Wetmore Ave.
Everett, WA 98201
Subject: Detention System at 9509 19th Ave. S.E.
Dear Mr. Quinton:
To ensure proper stormwater management, the City of Everett Engineer-
ing Department is routinely inspecting privately owned stormwater
detention systems on an annual basis. Careful attention must he ^iven
to the maintenance of these drainage systems. It is the property own-
er's responsibility to regularly have all the catch basins in the system
cleared of sediment; in particular, the catch basin housing the flow
restrictor. If the restrictor becomes clogged, the detention system
will not function and the potential for flooding and pollution of the
receiving water body increases.
The detention system at the above address was recently inspected by
City staff members. We found that the flow restrictor was placed in
the wrong catch basin. The catch basin that it was placed in is too
low to allow storage of stormwater runnff in the detention system.
The restrictor shoLld be re -installed in the proper catch basin per
sheet SD-3 of the proj2ct's approved drainage plan. It is r_y under-
standing that you are going to discuss this with the contractor. Please
contact me at 259-8811 and let me know when the work shall begin.
Sincerely,
ALFRED R.
