IF THE ATS IS OUTSIDE THE ENCLOSURE, IT SHALL BE BONDED TO <br />THE EXTERNAL DROUND RING WITH A #2 AWG SOLID TINNED COPPER WIRE. <br />THE SURGE ARRESTORS DESCRIBED IN THIS MOP ARE TO BE MOUNTED ON THE <br />MOUNTING PLATE SOLD BY THE MANUFACTURER. IF THE ARRESTOR MOUNTING PLATE IS MOUNTED ON THE TELCO BOARD AND <br />IF THE TELCO GROUND BAR IS BONDED TO THE EXTERNAL GROUND RING, THE <br />PLATE MAY BE BONDED TO THE TELCO GROUND BAR WITH A #2 AWG INSULATED <br />STRANDED COPPER WIRE AND SUITABLE COMPRESSIONOTYPE 2-HOLE LUGS. <br />2. IF THE ARRESTOR PLATE IS NOT MOUNTED ON THE TELCO BOARD. BOND IT <br />DIRECTLY TO THE EXTERNAL GROUND RING WITH A Q2 AWG SOLID TINNED <br />COPPER WIRE. USE A PVC CONDUIT THROUGH THE SHELTER WALL AT A 45 <br />DEGREE ANGLE TO ALLOW THE GROUND LEAD TO EXIT THE SHELTER FOR <br />BONDING TO THE EXTERNAL GROUND RING. <br />3. IF AN EXISTING #2 AWG GROUND CONDUCTOR EXISTS THE SHELTER (TO THE <br />EXTERNAL GROUND RING) WITHIN 2FT OF THE MOUNTING PLATE LOCATION, THE <br />PLATE MAY BE BONDED USING A 02 AWG INSULATED STRANDED CONDUCTOR WITH <br />A COMPRESSION TYPE 'C' TAP AND A SUITABLE COMPRESSION TYPE 2 HOLE LUG. <br />MAKE ALL CONNECTIONS TO THE ATS CASE, THE GENERATOR FRAME, THE <br />EXTERNAL FUEL TANK (IF PRESENT AND IF SUPPORTED BY THE MANUFACTURER) <br />AND THE SURGE ARRESTOR MOUNTING PLATE WITH SUABLE 2—HOLE <br />COPRESSION—TYPE LUG AAND STAINLESS —STEEL SCREWS, STAR —TYPE LOCK <br />WASHERS AND NUTS. REMOVE PAINT AT THE POINT WHERE THE COMPRESSION <br />LUG CON'AC'S THE MATING METAL SURFACE IN QUESTION TO ENSURE A GOOD <br />METAL—T-)—METAL CONTACT. APPLY ANTIOXIDANT TO THE MATING SURFACES. <br />ENSURE THAT ALL UNDERGROUND OR OUTDOOR CONNECTIONS TO A GROUNDING <br />SYSTEM ARE EXOTHERMICALLY WELDED (CAD —WELDED). <br />PERFORM AL'.
