The following note should be added on the page with the <br />biofiltration swale cross -sectional details: <br />NOTE: the specified biofiltration seed mix is not a <br />standard mix, and will need to be specially ordered. Allow <br />3-4 weeks for delivery of the mix. If problems are <br />encountered in obtaining a mix meeting the City's <br />specifications, please contact Jane Zimmerman, City of <br />Everett Public Works, at 259-8800. <br />If. a swale bypass is feasible, the following note should be <br />added on the plans with the other swale notes: <br />SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF VEGETATED SWALES <br />BETWEEN OCTOBER 1 AND APRIL 1: <br />1) place and stake sc:d in the swale to the freeboard <br />elevation. <br />2) after April 1: <br />a) block the flow into the swale at the <br />diversion structure. <br />b) remove the sod and construct the swale per <br />section 4.15.1.2 of the City of Everett's <br />Design and Construction Standards and <br />Specifications prior to April 15. <br />3) utilize the swale bypass system to divert flows <br />around the swale until vegetation in the swale has <br />become established. <br />If a swale bypass system is not feasible, the following note <br />should be added instead of the note above: <br />SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF VEGETATED SWALES <br />BETWEEN OCTOBER 1 AND APRIL 1: <br />1) place and stake sod in the swale to the freeboard <br />elevation. <br />2) after April 1, during a period when dry weather is <br />forecast, remove the sod and construct the swale <br />per section 4.15.1.2 of the City of Everett's <br />Design and Construction Standards and <br />Specifications prior to May 15. <br />The swale construction notes and swale planting/seed <br />ing <br />requirements must be shown on both the landscaping plan and <br />the storm drainage plan.
