I am requesting your approval as City Engineer for a <br />parking lot construction of 2 inches (compacted) of Class "B" <br />Asphalt placed over 4 inches (compacted) of Crushed Surface Top <br />Course. This differs from the 3 inches of asphalt required by <br />Everett Design and Construction Standards and Specifications, <br />Section 3.14.1, Page III-8. Our reason for requesting your <br />approval is that 2 inches of asphalt has been the design standard <br />for private commercial parking lots for many years and since this <br />parking lot will not encounter heavy truck loading we feel 2 <br />inches of Asphalt is an acceptable design solution. <br />I look forward to your response on this matter. <br />additional information is necessary - <br />sin ly, <br />Chris A.
