WA This letter provides an addendum to our geotechnical report that was prepared for the Home Base Warehouse in Everett, Washington. The referenced report, titled Geotechnical Engineering Report; Home Base Warehouse; Everett, Washington (dated July 31, 1997; NCA File No. 213497), was prepared for Michaelis - Swensen Partners. Wendy's plans to build a restaurant in the southeast corner of the site on a parcel they are buying from Michaelis - Swensen Partners. As part of the real estate purchase contract, Michaelis - Swensen agreed to provide for an addendum to the original geotechnical report. Our services were completed in general accordance with our Services Agreement with Michaelis - Swensen Partners, for which we received verbal authorization from David Michaelis on January 30, 1998. Our previous report is relied on for detailed descriptions of site and subsurface conditions, as well as detailed geotechnical recommendations. We understand that Wendy's has a copy of that report. Our approach for this addendum was to evaluate geotechnical aspects of design for the proposed Wendy's, compare them to geotechnica! aspects of design as discussed in our report for Home Base, and identify which aspects of Wendy's design were not in conformance with our recommendations for home Base. Typically, the design for Wendy's was somewhat more conservative than what we recommended for Home Base. Accordingly, the Wendy's design is generally considered to conform to our design recommendatinns.
