April 3, 1982
Mr. Jess Holland /
1917 - 19th Street,/
Everett, 'rJashington 98201
Dear Mr. Holland;
I;i ...qi.;en
CPfY OF
everett
QTV IIALL • 2588)5
EVEFETT,WASNINGTON
Otl701
INSPEClION UEVAflTlAENT
On March 16, 7982 I talked with you about the accessory building in your back
yard which is placed within a few iriches of your neighbor's garage to the
north of your property.
At that time I informed you that the accessory builing had to be set back
five fe?t from the property line. I suggested placing the structure against
your house and that would eliminate the setback problem.
A revieW of our files indicate that you did not obtain a building permit to
place the structure on your property. If ye had, the setback requirements
would have been explained to you.
Therefore, you are in violation of the Uniform Building Code for not obtainin9
the necessary permits for constructing or placing structures on your property.
You are also in violation of the City of Everett Zoning Code by not adhering
to the setback requirements. In accordance with Title 19 of the City Zoning
Code, accessory buildings shall not cover more than fifty per cent of the
rear yard area and, further, such buildings shall maintain the required set-
backs of a rinimum oP five feet.
At this point there is also a problem vith drainage from th,e awning over your
back yard. Rain gutters placed along the awning to prevent drainage onto the
neighboring property is required.
failure to comoly with these requirements may result in theassessment of a
penalty in accordance with the Everett Zoning Code.
Yours truly,
Kenneth W. Callahan
Duilding Dir tor
 . !/
By <Ld• ^-—
Mar an G. Dent, Housing Inspector
cc: Mrs. Peggy 6aker
J
