I'm mu WNDO <br />April 22, 1983 APR 2 8 1988 <br />CITY OF E LkE <br />Mr. Tim Tyler Fiannitlg kept, <br />City of Everett Building Official <br />RE: "Your" notices & orders as they pertain to 2129 Rockefeller, <br />and )909 and 1307 Qnd Street on Lots 15 - 16, Block 43,', Everett (etc) <br />Mr. Tyler: <br />Having spoken with Mr. Jim Langus and with Mr. Larry Crawford <br />earlier this week, I am taking this time to write to you, too. <br />Rather than to take the time and effort to argue the charges, point <br />by point, in the letters sent out over your signature, though]-- I <br />am quite sure -- not written by you, but by another party of different <br />gender, I will instead ask for your consideration and forebearance in <br />a situation I have been trying to control and your understanding of a <br />situation which requires more time than has been given. <br />I have no desire to try to say that these buildings are in excellent <br />shape. However, it has been at the hands of tenants first and then vandals <br />that the greatest damage has been done. Prior to that the Housing <br />Authority paid rent for tenants on these premises. A combination of <br />things, some mentioned above, brought the premises to their present <br />condition, not the least of which was city refusal to turn water back on. <br />I have been in process (prior to any involvement by the city) <br />of improving the premises and have been working through the P.U.D. <br />weatherization program on insulation and windows -- obviously work which <br />is done through contractors, with inspections, permits, etc. I have <br />also been pursuing -- and will continue to pursue -- CHIP participation. <br />However, I cannot do anything when I have conflict arising from personal <br />vendettas of a female city employee who has previously been ordered not <br />to set foot on any property of mine without first having written permission <br />from me -- not only by me but by her two previous City of Everett bosses. <br />Please bear with me. I am in process of bringing these buildings <br />back up to proper habitability. I certainly have hot had them In this <br />condition for any period faintly resembling many others in this city <br />that have been a true nuisance and cost the city large sums -- such as the <br />Monte Cristo Hotel to name just one. These buildings have been a tre- <br />mendous negative cash flow to me, and I certainly care more about <br />reversing that situation than any of you do. However, I do need some <br />cooperation and consideration Instead or threats -- as a certain someone <br />on the city payroll seems fond of doing. We have boarded up and locked <br />doors and windows almost daily, but vandals continue to break in regard- <br />less of what we do.. We have asked for police to check at night, but <br />don't get that cooperation either. We have been frustrated at almost <br />every turn, but have continued to move forward with, admittedly, limited <br />financial resources. <br />
