ZltljieCitp of eberett <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Symphony has endowed our community with a superb <br /> performing arts organization for seventy years; and <br /> WHEREAS, under the direction of Maestro Paul-Elliot Cobbs, the orchestra <br /> continually provides music of excellence and beauty; and <br /> WHEREAS, through Everett Symphony's international cultural exchange, the <br /> orchestra has performed in cities around the world and, in turn, has brought <br /> international guest artists to the Everett stage; and <br /> WHEREAS, as an integral part of Everett's vibrant and growing art scene, the <br /> Symphony's contribution to our quality of life is vital to Everett's cultural <br /> growth; and <br /> WHEREAS, the quality of the orchestra was affirmed in 2006 when Dr. Paul- <br /> Elliott Cobbs and the Everett Symphony received a standing ovation for an <br /> impressive performance at New York's Carnegie Hall; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ray Stephanson, Mayor of the City of Everett, do <br /> hereby proclaim October 18, 2008, as <br /> Everett Symphony Day <br /> in the City of Everett in celebration of the Symphony's seventy seasons in our <br /> community and congratulate them for their exceptional accomplishments. <br /> Signed this 15th day of October 2008. <br /> tt <br /> Mayor 1.tephans.n JI, It: <br /> %, 11 <br />
