RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION authorizing the declaration of <br /> City owned property located at the southeast corner of <br /> Colby Ave and Wall Street commonly known as <br /> the Allen-Buick Property as surplus and authorizing <br /> its sale to Touchstone Corporation <br /> WHEREAS, review of the property commonly known as the Allen-Buick Property <br /> located at the southeast corner of Colby Ave and Wall Street and legally described as Lots <br /> 1 thru 7, Block 717, Plat of Everett, has been completed by all City Departments and has <br /> received approval of the Mayor; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett did solicit proposals (RFP 2007-114) from qualified <br /> developers to purchase and develop a mixed use building on the City owned property <br /> known as the Allen-Buick Property; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 11, 2008, the Everett City Council did award the RFP 2007-114 to <br /> Touchstone Corporation and authorized the Mayor and City Attorney's Office to <br /> undertake negotiations with Touchstone Corporation for the purchase and development of <br /> the Allen-Buick Property. On September 3, 2008, the City Council extended the period <br /> for negation with Touchstone Corporation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council finds and determines that the real property known <br /> as the Allen-Buick Property, is not and will not be needed for City purposes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council finds that the City is acting in compliance with the <br /> City Charter and the requirements of Ordinance No. 2935-06 establishing the process for <br /> sale of City owned real property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett City Council finds that a Purchase and Sale Agreement for the <br /> Allen-Buick Property between the City and Touchstone Corporation has now been <br /> negotiated; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT as follows: <br /> Section 1. The real property commonly known as the Allen-Buick Property located at <br /> the southeast corner of Colby Ave and Wall Street and legally described as Lots 1 thru 7, <br /> Block 717, Plat of Everett is not and will not be needed for City purposes and is, <br /> therefore, declared to be surplus property. <br /> rz <br /> -L <br />
