Apartments
Dear Mr. Bramhall:
We have been asked to examine construction drao-iings for the twu refer•enced
apartment buildings to determine corrpliance erith City o` Everett Noise
Specifications.
The PoisF Specification is contained in parayraph 3 of the Final Declaration
of Nonsignificance issued by Uennis L. Derrickson, Director, Planning
Department, City of Everett, dated July 31, 1979. The letter states that an
averag noise level of 65 daA vas measured at the northeast corner of the
property (adjacent to SR 526) during non-rush liour traffic conditions. The
letter further states that the average noise levei ir,side should not exceed
45 dQA, this requiring a 20 d6A noise reduction from outside to inside.
We have reference material in our technical iiles shoving that the noise
reduction of typical residential construction (vood frarne, ti•iood siding,
single-glazed windo;s, closed) ranges froin a lo of 22 to over 30 daA.
105 ME SGIh SRH:f, SEAIIIF. YASHiNG'Ipi! 9105 206; 523-3J50 SGAITIE (503f 221-02;OF'ORiLAND
