The <br /> initial "not to exceed amount" is $48,000. The amendment will enable Parks to compensate the service <br /> provider/instructor up to a "not to exceed" amount of$53,000 in 2008. The amendment will allow for the program <br /> expansion Parks is currently experiencing and enable Parks to compensate the service provider/instructor up to a"not <br /> to exceed" amount of$53,000 in 2008. <br /> The original "not to exceed amount" in the professional service agreement estimated a total of 77 classes would be <br /> offered in aquatic fitness. Due to an increase in time and space availablity for these popular classes at the Forest Park <br /> Swim Center, the number of classes Parks will offer is now estimated to be 84, a 10%increase. Classes offered under <br /> the category of Aquatic Fitness include Hydrobics,Aquatic Aerobics,Jock and Jill, Silver Splash and Swim and Trim. <br /> Revenue is shared between the service provider and the City. Revenue is projected to be a total of$67,297 for 2008. <br /> Due to the popularity of the aquatic fitness classes Parks is requesting City Council authorize the Mayor to sign the <br /> amendment which will result in the continued,uninterrupted provision of aquatic fitness classes for the remainder of <br /> 2008 with the same service provider/instructor. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment <br /> No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement for the Provision of Aquatic Fitness Classes offered by the <br /> Parks Department <br /> 1 <br /> C:\Documents and Settings\SuClark\Desktop\Council-Nov.SCS-AmendmentAquaticFitnessLivngstonOct 2008(2).doc <br />
