Planning Commission October 21, 2008 Pg. 9
Meeting Minutes
Commissioner Trautman recognized that Everett Avenue was a busy arterial but felt that
the area south of Everett Avenue still deserved the same quality approach that others in
the area deserve recognizing that there are a number of contributing structures in that
area. She felt that boundary alternative 1 would prompt better development south of
Everett Avenue.
8:53:48 PM
Commissioner Hale was supportive of Alternative 1 boundary because the boundary to
California included an extension of the historical area.
Commissioner Hunter stated that there was testimony in opposition to the extension of
the boundary to California and that testimony should be taken into consideration.
Commissioner Moore was supportive of Alternative 2.
8:57:43 PM
Commissioner Sand stated that he was impressed with the testimony presented at the
hearing. He stated that the overlay zone started out to preserve structures that have a
unique character to the area and that there were structures between Everett Avenue and
California that are of that nature and he felt that they should be included in that
boundary.
8:59:03 PM
Motion: Commissioner Hale made a motion to approve the resolution with the boundary
to California as depicted in Alternative 1.
