RESOLUTION NO. <br /> 10 <br /> A RESOLUTION waiving public bidding requirements and approving a sole source purchase of Pratt <br /> Pneumatic Valve Actuators from Beaver Equipment Specialty Company. <br /> WHEREAS, the Water Filtration Plant requires the replacement of numerous pneumatic valve actuators; and <br /> WHEREAS, Henry Pratt Company produces the only valve actuators that are compatible with existing <br /> valves; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pratt actuators are unique in the use of fiberglass cylinders resulting in increased reliability <br /> and longevity; and <br /> WHEREAS, Beaver Equipment Specialty Company, is the sole distributor of Pratt Valve Actuators in the <br /> Northwest Region; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT that <br /> because there is clearly and legitimately only one source capable of supplying Pneumatic Valve Actuators <br /> that meet the City's needs and are compatible with existing equipment, the City hereby waives competitive <br /> bidding requirements and authorizes the purchase of Pratt Valve Actuators from Beaver Equipment Specialty <br /> Company. <br /> Councilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this day of , 2008. <br /> Council President <br /> C' <br />
