The Enterprise Agreement provides a straight forward method for ensuring that all of the City's desktop and laptop computers are in compliance with the most common Microsoft licensing requirements. The Enterprise Agreement supports the Windows operating system, Office Pro (including Word,Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as network, Exchange/e-mail, Systems Configuration Management, and Share Point client access licenses. The Enterprise agreement provides Software Assurance that allows us to upgrade any of the covered licenses to the latest release without additional cost. The recommendation is to renew the City's Microsoft Enterprise Agreement using the contract negotiated by the Washington State Department of Information Services (DIS). The pricing offered by the DIS contract is significantly better than what the City could negotiate on our own. This is a three year contract renewal with annual payments of$131,982.10 including WA State sales tax. RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign the Microsoft Enterprise Agreement with annual payments of$131,982.10 including WA State Sales Tax for three years.
