The <br />Uniform Building Code provides that all permits expire by limitation if the work authorized <br />by the permit is suspended or abandoned at any time after work is commenced for a period of <br />180 days. If you wish to prevent the permits from expiring without documentation of <br />completion, you may: <br />1) Request inspections of work that has occurred, to document continuing progress, <br />or 2) Request final inspections of the work that is completed, <br />or 3) Submit a written request for a 180 day extension. <br />Please provide the permit number when requesting inspections or extensions. Please respond <br />within 10 days. After that time the file will be sent to our Records Department for <br />microfilming without final approval.
