HAS 9ECl iAhC'i Tp SOLVE THIS VR09'_[V _\
C,4Tr. _ _ / I
Aiter investigating the problem on 3/8/79 am., it was determincd that the storm drainage problem
that is being experienced is the result of installation of concrete tile in the ditch fronting the i
Benton property tvithout proper catch basins. This improper installation was done at some time I
in the past...our records do not indicate that there is a permit for the installation. The water coming
IoMo the Benton property is storm water running off the public stree:t across the r_nclosed ditch and I
i into the 6enton yard. Prior to the four-plex being built, the water ran from the lawn area hack south- ,
easterly to the open ditch on publio right-of-way and went from therz into the concrete tile.
'Che new four-plex elec:ed to install concrete tile also, rather than have an open ditch, except
when the four plex Fut in tile they installed inlets to accept the wz?er draining from the public
street. When the ditch was enclosed at theBentor's soth property edge on public right-of-way, it
Iiighlighted tha previous improper installation by not allowin atorm water irom the Benton oroperty
a method to enter the public storm drain system; resulting in the storm •,vater from the public street
in front of the 6enton property running across the drain system onto the Benton property and
staying thene.
Solutions to the problern include: 011. installation of a proper inlet at a location which would pick
up the public water prior to goig onto the Benton property.
//2. picking up the water on the Benton property and piping it
to the public storm drain system.
113. Placing fill material on the Benton property forcing the
street uater to stay in the street until it seeks an ther low
spot, probably the catch basin on adjacent proFarty to the
north of Benton's.
-- — — .c,,i} qU'L
.i:l]HN fJOTIFIEO OF qCT1011
❑ N PERSOv
❑ „,.,
 [i\' TLLLPIIONC
C _
,,: ,.,,_ i.
